World at War (Review) COD5
Treyarch hits us with a solid game that manages to stand on its own as the most visceral Call of Duty to date…even if it’s still a few paces behind COD4.
Environment:
World War 2. Play as U.S. & Russian soldiers.
Gameplay:
First-Person Shooter. 8-10 hour single player campain (or co-op). Multi-player.
Graphics:
Near Perfect (based on 2008 standards)
Second Helpings:
Night of the Undead mode
Multi-player (co-op up to 4 or online)
Call of Duty :World at War may not represent the best of the series, but it’s far from the worst. The single-player’s a solid step forward from Call of Duty 3, and the cooperative multiplayer should give the game some legs. I think anyone skeptical about whether Treyarch could improve upon their last iteration will be pleasantly surprised; World at War brings all the ugliness of humanity in wartime to the forefront, and it manages to find refreshing — and satisfying — new stories to tell.

GTA 4 (Review)
The American dreams of quick money and mass multimedia consumption now available in the most vibrant, dynamic, and entertainment-packed playground in console video game history.
Environment:
Liberty City. Play as Nico Bellic.
Gameplay:
Action adventure. 25+ hour single player campaign (no co-op). Multi-player for up to 16.
Graphics:
Near Perfect (based on 2008 standards)
Second Helpings:
Hidden & unlockable items
Multi-player (Free mode, Cops n’ Crooks, etc.)
World exploration
Grand Theft Auto 4 is a Killer App and has set the standard for open-world games and will be tough to beat (that is until GTA5 comes out). There is so much to do and love that you could honestly spend a 100 hours and still not see and do everything.

Prince of Persia (Review)
Who needs a “live-action” Prince of Persia movie when you have a game like this?
Environment:
Ancient Persia being corrupted by Ahriman. Play as “The Prince” with partner Elika.
Gameplay:
Action adventure. 8-10 hour single player campaign (no co-op)
Graphics:
Near Perfect (based on 2008 standards)
Second Helpings:
World exploration.
Hidden & unlockable items
Prince of Persia is a breathtaking game visually. The game play is very good so if you like adventure games like Sands of Time and Tomb Raider without the minion battles (focus on mini-boss and boss battles) then this game is for you. Just set enough time aside to explore the entire world that you are thrust into as you won’t be sorry.

Mass Effect (Review)
BioWare doesn’t let the fans down with Mass Effect as they continue their tradition of great games (such as the Star Wars : KOTOR series and Jade Empire). Although it might be tough at times, this is a game you will not want to miss.
Environment:
Space Opera in the far future. Play as Commander Shepard (a Specter).
Gameplay:
Action RPG. 18-25 hour single player campaign (no co-op).
Graphics:
Near perfect (based on 2008 standards)
Second Helpings:
Multiple story paths.
World exploration.
Mass Effect is a Killer App on both XBOX and PC and a game that never gets old. You get to enjoy an epic story, amazing graphics, and a gameplay experience to die for.

Dark Sector (Review)
Everyone should be able to own a three-bladed boomerang…that is until they cut off all their fingers.
Environment:
Alternate future (Soviet inspired). Play as Hayden Tenno.
Gameplay:
First-Person Shooter. 8-10 hour single player campaign (no co-op). Multi-player.
Graphics:
Most Excellent (based on 2008 standards)
Second Helpings:
Multi-player
Dark Sector is a Diamond in the Rough (despite the limited replay value) so if you like Gears of War, God of War, Riddick, Fear, or even the recent Resident Evils…then this game is an excellent pick-up (a MUST OWN at the $20 price tag).
