PREVIEW: Marvel Super Hero Sackboys Coming To LittleBigPlanet
The House of Ideas had an idea to take a few of its bullpen best and turn them into Sackboys. At today's "The Next Generation of Marvel Video Games" panel, three new heroic LittleBigPlanet costumes were revealed.
Marvel showed off three concept renders of Sackboys that may be coming to the PlayStation 3 exclusive, but did not offer dates for the costumes, nor confirm that this would be the extent of the Marvel characters that would be licensed for LittleBigPlanet use.
Considering Marvel has Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and Marvel Super Hero Squad coming this year, don't be surprised if you see Captain America, Iron Man and Wolverine on your PS3 soon.

DEALZ: Cheap handhelds and Buy 2 Get 1 games!
Sometimes I like to fantasize about being John F. Kennedy. Except that I'd be smarter than to sic my brother on the Mafia after they helped ensure my presidential victory. And I wouldn't have abandoned those Cuban refugees. I'd still totally be tapping Marilyn, though. Some things just shouldn't change.
Some strong deals this week. GameStop is doing their annual "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" sale on used titles, so it might be a good time to swing by your local store and see what's on the table. Game Crazy has some serious savings on their used handheld units. And Target is offering gift cards when you buy some Xbox 360 stuff, including MS points!
Hit the jump for all the week's bargains. And, if you're in the UK, you should head over to Gemsi's cblog and check out what's on sale in your neighborhood.

First footage of Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines
Our first look at Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines for the PSP has finally arrived. Bloodlines picks up right after the events from the first Assassin's Creed. You will be playing as Altair again as he hunts down the remaining Templars who fled from the Holy Land to the island of Cyprus after the death of Robert De Sable.
Bloodlines will contain eight new missions and the same feeling of exploration will be in the game as well, including being able to climb like a monkey on every surface. Bloodlines will also bridge the gap between Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2. It will explain how Ezio, the hero of 2, is born and where the Codex comes from.
There's also some connectivity features for the PS3 version of AC 2 and Bloodlines. When you unlock health and hidden blade upgrades in the AC 2, those upgrades will appear in Bloodlines and vice-versa too. You'll be able to gain access to any Templar Coins and special weapons you've collected on the PSP version over on the PS3 version as well.
Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines will be out during the holiday season this year. In the mean time, check out the world premier trailer after the break.

Turbografx-16 games hit the PlayStation Network in Japan
This kills me. This kills me not only as a huge Turbografx-16 fan, but as an American PlayStation Network user that is still patiently waiting for many of the killer PlayStation One titles Japan has available.
Now we have even more to feel jealous over. As of today on Japan's PSN, Bomberman ‘94, New Adventure Island, Sengoku Mahjong, and Devil’s Crush can be downloaded and played on both the PS3 and the PSP, each priced at 600 yen. Siliconera says that even more Turbografx-16 titles are planned for the future, though no specifics were given.
I truly hope they come to their senses and release these great old games here in the US. Oh, and get on the PSOne stuff, too. Don't give me another motorcycle game, Sony.
Rumor: PSP 2 happening, will have insane processor thing
Uh oh. Someone from Sony may have spilled some big beans. Eurogamer Spain believes they have documentation for the next-next PlayStation Portable. We’re not talking about the PSPgo. We’re talking about the PSP 2.
According to the documentation, the PSP 2 will use a quad-core PowerVR SGX543MP chip from Imagine Technologies. Eurogamer proper has likened the chip to what is inside Apple’s new iPhone 3GS except with more cores. Apparently this bad boy, through either voodoo or science, will be able to crank out Xbox-style visuals and speeds. Talk about a tech jump for handhelds.
We wouldn’t get too excited yet; the PSP 2 won’t be due out for a bit. Sony still has to convince consumers that the 250-dollar price tag for the eightieth PSP reboot (the PSPgo) is worth it. Plus, technology changes constantly. Next year at this time we might be sucking down dinner pills, living on Mars and enjoying Gatorade milk. That quad-core thing might not survive the year without being trumped by something better, smaller or faster.
Just keep this under your hat, folks and file this away as rumor for now. But wow, wouldn't it be swell to rock out on a handheld that could handle Halo: Combat Evolved or Azurik?

Undead Knights comic features zero zombies, two boobs
You've got to love Tecmo. Not only does the publisher know how to play to its strengths, but it's also completely shameless.
The publisher sent out an email update today, covering two of its upcoming titles -- Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma for the PlayStation 3, and Undead Knights for the PlayStation Portable. In its update, there really isn't much info on Undead Knights; if you're looking for that, you can check out our preview for E3.
What it does reveal is one of the game's characters, a princess-like blonde who's wearing an outfit that looks more like sheer negligee than a royal robe. Her breasts, as you would expect from Tecmo, are enormous and on display. While the word "zombie" is mentioned, that's pretty much where it ends. As you can tell, Tecmo knows who butters its bread -- people who like breasts and slaughtering their enemies with armies of the undead.
With that said, it should be noted that as a game, Undead Knights doesn't take itself too seriously. The over-the-top trailer they released at E3 featured lots of hacking and slashing, set to the tune of some of the most ridiculous metal you'll ever hear. And since I'm easily amused, this definitely puts Undead Knights on my radar. Mission accomplished, Tecmo.

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
Looks like Amazon is having an amazing deal on the 360 version of Lego Indiana Jones. For a limited time they are offering $31 OFF of Indy for the Xbox 360 (and savings on the other console versions can be had too). We have enjoyed our time with all the licensed Lego games to date and Indy is no different so this is a steal at the $19 price point! Heck even some of the “Associates” have it listed for UNDER $8 NEW! So either way you can save a lot of money (and can save even more by not buying the terrible Wii Indiana Jones that just released and going Lego!

DEALZ: $75 towards NEW SYSTEM!
Offer is good until June 20th!
Amazon is offering an excellent trade-in opportunity. Trade in any of your games and if the trade in adds up to $50 (or more) you will get the trade-in credit AND $50 towards a NEW system. You can also shoot higher for the $75 trade-in plus the $75 towards a NEW system too. We have already begun looking through our piles and piles of games to see what we can come up with as we just know that we will need a new XBOX 360 at some point (unfortunate side effect to owning a 360). Maybe you will come up with enough to add one of the cool new DSi systems to your stable?
